Outputs
This project is innovative in that we strengthen capacity building for specialised support of victims of gender-based violence in the health care setting by targeting three groups:
1) national violence prevention advocates who are in the frontlines in providing support to victims;
2) health care professionals within clinical teams who do not have the skills to implement a comprehensive approach and are confronted with victims in need of specialised support; and
3) policy makers in the health field who are responsible for policy measures in order to provide specialised care to victims in health settings. The project ensures sustainability using the train-the-trainer methodology and thus creating a resource pool which has the skills to pass on to others.
Also, this project promotes harmonisation at the European level by examining the legal frameworks that can mandate support for victims of violence in the health care setting in the EU28. This is in order to identify opportunities for strengthening the policy level response to protecting the health and rights of women who are victims.
Main Ouputs:
- Environmental scan and situational analysis in the 6 participating countries
- Implementation and evaluation of a train-the-trainer seminar for violence prevention advocates and health advocates in each of the 6 participating countries
- Coaching and supervision of trainers in performing capacity building seminars to health care providers
- Report on legal frameworks in place at national level in the EU for provision of support to victims of gender-based violence in the health care setting
- EU dissemination of project deliverables
